"My Story" Tabitha

My journey began in a close-knit farming community in central Ohio, where I was raised with a deep sense of community, faith, and family. From a young age, I knew I wanted a life built around serving others. After earning my bachelor’s degree in communications, I started my career in hospitality management—a field that taught me the importance of clear communication, empathy, and creating welcoming spaces. 

But it wasn’t long before I found my true calling in early childhood education and intervention. Over the years, I’ve served as a teacher and mentor within a corporate setting, than later a Director of an inclusive non-profit child development center. Our work, in conjunction with therapists and other non-profit agencies, focused not just on education, but on inclusion, early intervention, family engagement, and community building.

In 2005, I began writing home studies for Adoption Home Study Services of Ohio, and I was immediately drawn to the deeply personal and transformative nature of adoption. As a devoted Catholic and mother of four, I understand the beauty and complexity of building a family. 

Combining my passion for early childhood development with my experience in adoption work felt like a natural evolution—and a dream fulfilled. Launching my own home study service has allowed me to bring my full self—educator, advocate, mother, and writer—to the families I serve. I love watching children thrive, and I find immense purpose in helping families take those first steps toward adoption. My heart is in this work, and I am grateful every day for the opportunity to walk alongside others on their journey.
